The UPCAT Review, consistent with the new K-12 DepEd (Department of Education) curriculum, focuses on ensuring the following:

  • A higher level of English proficiency in grammar
  • Reading with speed, accuracy and critical understanding
  • Full comprehension of Arithmetic and Mathematical concepts
  • Enhanced ability in answering concept questions, numerical reasoning, and problem solving questions related to Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics and Probability, and Pre-Calculus
  • Ability to answer Science questions ranging from scientific investigation, Earth Science, Life Science, and the Physical Sciences (Chemistry and Physics)

The review program provides each reviewee with the preparation necessary in achieving the highest test scores possible:

  • Learning to build on stock knowledge
  • Acquiring excellent problem-solving skills
  • Mastering the most effective test-taking strategies

To evaluate the students after an intensive review, they work on practice tests using test-taking strategies.  At the same time, students independently tackle the lessons more thoroughly by themselves using the VEA Learning UPCAT REVIEWER.  After the review, they embark on further self-study answering more practice tests provided for in the reviewer. Finally, the reviewees return to the classroom for a final refresher course capped by a simulated college entrance test experience.

Classes are conducted in a small-class environment by lecturers who are teachers/alumni of the University of the Philippines and/or Philippine Science High School.  Students are expected to attend each scheduled session to get the full benefit of the review. The review uses materials and modules that have been developed, fine-tuned and proven effective in our learning center over the past 15 years.
